Covington -- William Joye Davis, 66, died Sunday in the Walker Hospital at Avon Park, Fla after being seriously ill for one week. He had resided in Avon Park since last August. He was previously a resident of the Danville, Ill and Cleveland, Ohio areas. He was born March 2, 1903 in Crawfordsville to Frank and Maude Francis Davis. He married Neva Benne Cunningham on July 10, 1924. Mr. Davis was retired from the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen where he was a legal analyst. He was a member of Al Koran Shrine of Cleveland, Scottish Rite of Cleveland, Masonic Lodge 492 of Lafayette, a lifetime member of VFW Post 387 of Lakewood, Ohio and Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen 402. Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Bonita Norris of Danville, Ill and Mrs. Patricia Lomax of Catlin, Ill; four grandchildren and four cousins of Crawfordville. He was preceded in death by a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hegg Funeral Home in Covington, Rev. James Downey will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. -

Covington, Ind. - Services for William Joye Davis, 66, who died Sunday (Feb 15, 1970) at Walker Hospital in Avon Park, Fla., will be at 2 p.m. EST Wednesday at the Hegg Funeral Home with the Rev. James Downey officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Friends will be received at the funeral home after noon Tuesday with masonic services at 8 p.m. Mr. Davis was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, Masonic Lodge 492, of Lafayette, life member of the Veterans Of Foreign Wars at Lakewood, Ohio and Railroad Trainmen 402. He was preceded in death by a brother.
